Mia turns TWO!

My baby turned two this year the end of Aug. We felt very grateful to have her back. She had been in the hospital for a few days having a bunch of tests done on her, when they figured she was fine and sent her home, just in time for her birthday. We had a great weekend with her, swimming, the boys playing water basket ball, BBQing, and eating birthday cake with family and close friends! The next day, however, brought on a new rash and the same symptoms she was having before. We were hoping it was just a virus, but when the symptoms didn't subside we were back in the hospital. This time with a diagnosis of Kawasaki's disease which is an autoimmune disease that attacks the heart and also leaves her with a nasty rash and ulcers in her mouth. Thankfully her heart seemed to be fine and still is. After treating her for the disease for a few days, she had to be transferred to PHX children's for further treatment, which did the trick. She was released the day we blessed James. We were lucky to have Bens parents there for support, due to the blessing, which we definitely needed. Mia is doing great now, back to her normal curious, crazy self, just the way we like her! We feel very blessed to live in the country we live in, that she was able to be diagnosed and treated fast enough to prevent lasting damage. We are grateful for all the thoughts and prayers that were sent her way and know they made all the difference.
